      The 16th century castle, listed as a historical monument, combines the past with modernity in its visit offers thanks to new technologies. The visit has become dynamic, collaborative, immersive and fun thanks to videos, audios, light shows, puzzles, mapping, animation...

      Stroll through the exhibitions, taste the wines of Monbazillac and be surprised, amazed, seduced! It's an unforgettable journey that awaits you.

      To delight visitors' curiosity, 4 universes have been highlighted:

      • History ;
      • Oenological;
      • Playful ;
      • Artistic.

      Exploring the aromas of Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle is tasting the future.

      3 grape varieties to taste the mystery of Monbazillac

      • Semillon

      Sémillon brings power and structure to blended wines, particularly when combined with Sauvignon, of which it is the preferred partner for the production of Monbazillac.
      Its color is golden yellow, the aromas offer a wide range, from candied fruit of apricot, pineapple or mango to "roast". The grape variety develops complex flavors of spices , honey or mushroom.

      • Sauvignon Blanc

      Sauvignon Blanc is the grape variety that winemakers incorporate into Sémillon – the dominant grape variety. It brings its freshness and fruit aromas.

      Its light color has green highlights. The grape variety develops vegetal and fruity notes of citrus fruits, rhubarb, added floral touches of elderberry and mineral touches. Its acidity in the mouth gives an invigorating sensation appreciated for sweet wines.

      • Muscadelle

      Muscadelle brings floral notes of acacia and honeysuckle and fruity notes of peach and apricot enhanced with spicy touches to blended wines. It delivers a soft and smooth sensation in the mouth.

      3 spaces to taste the future and explore your senses

      • The Pavilion of Aromas

      Located in the Cour du Château, the Pavillon des arômes is a space that places tasting at the center of the experience.

      The visitor takes a seat around the tables, 3 wines are offered to him and are commented on by a team of professionals who reveal all the secrets of the wines tasted to the participants. An ideal moment to deepen the discovery of our wines!

      More than a tasting, we hope for a journey that projects each person towards a universe that will be their own. In any case, a moment of sharing and exploration !

      This adventure of the senses at the Pavillon des arômes lasts 30 minutes and is scheduled at the start of the visit according to different themes.

      • The shop space

      The entire boutique space has been completely renovated to allow the eye to take in one last breathtaking view of the park and the castle through the bay window.

      Françoise, our dynamic shop manager and her team invite visitors to discover our complete ranges of wines and local products. The shop area includes a large counter where the tasting of a wine of your choice is offered among the wines in our Euphonie range. This essential stop at the end of the visit will be an opportunity for everyone to take the time to discover the different local products and bring back with them the flavors of the country.

      • The Brizay Pavilion, the restaurant

      Our chef and his team welcome lovers of precious moments. Savoring a meal means taking the time to live, and to appreciate each dish. Here again, you can explore our range of Euphonie wines, red, white or rosé, dry, sweet or liqueur, Bergerac, Pécharmant or Monbazillac, by the glass or by the bottle. Everything is there in front of you!

      Seize life, pick up serenity, take your time and make your visit an unforgettable moment.

    My partner and I did the tour with included 3-wine tasting and had a lovely time. The exhibition is incredibly interesting and informative, and the staff providing the tastings are absolutely lovely and incredibly knowledgeable, not to mention the delicious wine on offer, grown on site and in the area. At the time of writing, there’s a tasting done in English each day at 3:30, and it’s well worth the €18 package. We went in April, so we were the only people there, which made for a very personal experience. Super, would definitely go again.

    Quite a high purchase price to visit an educational exhibition where you don't get to know much because of the noise over the loudspeakers. The castle is a beautiful building, but inside it is nothing special.

    Paying €11.75 for a visit to the almost empty castle is a shame, the visit with auditory bells where you don't hear anything, because there's too much hubbub from the audio next door! The visits a few years ago were much better and above all the park had free access. Normally, the parking lot is full and here it was empty Honestly the visit is no longer worth it, very disappointed overall.
