Discover the history of the Château de Monbazillac, listed as a historic monument, through 2 exhibitions that tell you about its past from the War of Religion to the Renaissance. Built in the 16th century, it was the home of the Bataclan family after several twists and turns that are presented to you in 5 fully interactive rooms. Let yourself be guided by videos, audios, mappings, light shows and puzzles to discover a museum that reveals its rich past with new technologies. The tour continues in the 300m2 museography space, ideal for immersing yourself in the work of the winegrowers.

Château de Monbazillac, a variety of activities to immerse yourself in the world of wine in Monbazillac

Monbazillac resonates like the promise of a good sweet and aromatic wine to savor. You will not be disappointed since 3 tasting areas are offered at the Château de Monbazillac. The guided discovery at the Pavillon des arômes is accompanied by the sommelier and her wise advice, while the Pavillon Brizay restaurant has the Euphonie wine range in red, white, rosé, dry, sweet or liqueur to fill your taste buds with a quality drink. Bring back a few bottles after a tour of the shop which also offers local products including biscuits, chocolates, oils or honeys from the region.

Take the time to admire the landscape before returning, the view is breathtaking over the Bergerac valley, a panorama between land and sea where the vines change color with the seasons for a memorable memory of the Château de Monbazillac.

I highly recommend visiting this castle! The explanations on the Monbazillac appellation and wine production in general are very educational. The place itself is magnificent, with vines used exclusively to produce wines under the name Château de Monbazillac! You can also taste the wines at the end of the visit! An unmissable visit to the Dordogne!

I expected more of the chateau itself. The wine is worth tasting and coming, but I wish I spent 40€ entrance fee for my family on two bottles of wine rather than enter it. The castle can be viewed from outside with a glass of wine and in your hand, you won't miss much.

Would have expected more. The castle is beautiful. But it doesn't correspond to what you would expect after reading tourist guides. The glass of wine included in the entrance fee was more of a drop. For us it wasn't good value for money
