    • Bridoire, a castle that made headlines!

      In the heart of the Monbazillac vineyard, discover the incredible history of a castle that almost disappeared in the 20th century!

      Bridoire was built from the end of the 12th century to the 19th century. Inhabited by the Foucauld family from 1806 to 1938, the castle was sold. Bridoire then became the scene of a political and media saga linked to Bokassa and gradually fell into abandonment in the 1980s. Thirty years of looting followed before the expropriation and purchase of the castle by the Guyot family in 2011.

      In 2012 , after major work, the castle opened its doors to the public for the first time.

      Bridoire is now saved and inhabited year-round by its owners.

      Today it is the liveliest site in Bergerac with its 15 furnished rooms on 3 levels and its stables with horses and mini ponies.

      Bridoire is also Le Château des Jeux : 100 old-fashioned and giant games for all ages indoors and in the castle grounds (archery and crossbow shooting, games of skill and reflexes, giant chessboard, life-size snakes and ladders, grass skiing, board games, etc.).

      In summer, enjoy a quick meal in the castle courtyard to spend the day on site!

      Activities in July and August : historical cooking with the making of madeleines with Périgord hazelnut flour, meeting with the Princess and introduction to sword fighting with the Chevalier de Bridoire.

      Optional: to extend the adventure, lose yourself in the labyrinths of the Mysterious Valley, two courses of challenges and puzzles in a breathtaking natural and wild setting!

      • Duration of the course : 1h30-2h;
      • 2 courses to choose from;
      • Closed shoes required.

      For more thrills, we offer nighttime Murder Escape Games throughout the castle on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings in July and August.

    Very beautiful, beautifully restored property. 900 years old and still standing. Concept of games, animation and puzzles, supervised by a very friendly team. Boutique catering. We had a great time.

    Great experience at the castle! The egg quest was very well designed for different ages (6 and 8 years old in my case), allowing you to discover the castle in a fun and interesting way. The toys and activities offered in different rooms and outside are really well thought out and entertaining. A great visit, which I recommend!
