- Le Comptoir Authentique is a delicatessen offering products from Périgord and other French regions, cheese and charcuterie by the slice, a cellar and spirits department, a gift / decoration / tableware area and a canteen for lunch.
  This charming shop was voted "best point of sale in delicatessen" in France in 2020 by the Gourmet Sélection fair.
  It is located 200m from the Sainte Marie de Sarlat church and 250m from the Grande Rigaudie car park, in the heart of Sarlat in the medieval city.
  
  Laurie and Benoît are happy to welcome you there in high season every day from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. without interruption (open Monday to Saturday in low season).
  
  In the grocery store, you will find a wide choice of regional products:
  - Wines (Bergerac, Pécharmant, Monbazillac, Cahors…)
  - Artisanal duck and goose foie gras and specialties made from Barbary duck
  - Walnut cakes and other local delicacies
  - Organic and artisanal beer from Périgord
  - Aperitif with walnuts, chestnuts, plums, liqueurs, brandies…
  - Aquitaine caviar, Périgord truffle butter and Neuvic caviar butter
  - Salt, oils, vinegars, Périgord truffle mustard
  - Périgord black truffle, crisps, cheese and truffle sausage...
  Free tasting of regional products all summer long (aperitif, wines, cakes, honey, jams...).

Small, unassuming, and lovely. The proprietor and the quality of the food are perfect. Merci beaucoup, Monsieur. (I would love to know the name of the small round cheese. One of the best ever.)

Great place to get lunch if you miss the restaurant window. The sandwich Perigourdin (rillettes and cornichons) was very tasty.

This is not about the products (which are by the way very nice), but about the service. I was in this (very nice) shop with my two-year-old boy who was very interested in all the small things around him. Although I kept running after him the whole time and kept watching what he did, the lady remarked that the child must not touch anything (at that moment he had looked at canned sardines). It was a bit of a shock because I was being very careful indeed. It seems obvious to me that children (as well as adults) can/may touch things: it is not a museum, but a shop. The lady went on and told me in a sanctimonious way: you ought to teach them (children). It feels wrong to me to forbid everything to children instead of explaining to them that they have to be careful with what it is they do touch...which is exactly what my son did.

The Perigourdine salad is good but not copious, it corresponds to a small starter. The price of this salad is therefore way too high!

A tiny place in middle-aged Sarlat away from the big summer crowds, period cinema decor, cordial service and products... um products... that we just wanted to rob. shop then to prolong the taste...
