    • CHÂTEAU LESTEVENIE : A WINE EXPERIENCE IN THE HEART OF THE PériGORD PURPLE

      A historic and enchanting estate

Château Lestevenie, located in Gageac-et-Rouillac in the Bergerac vineyards of Périgord Pourpre, is an invitation to discover the richness and diversity of the Périgord terroir.

Nestled in the heart of a renowned wine region, this estate offers a unique experience combining tradition and modernity. Visitors can immerse themselves in the history and natural beauty of this enchanting place.

History and heritage of Château Lestevenie

The history of Château Lestevenie is deeply rooted in the Périgord Pourpre terroir. This family wine estate embodies the passion for winemaking and respect for ancestral traditions. The Terblanche family, originally from South Africa, took over the estate in February 2022, bringing with them a blend of expertise and passion for viticulture.

Their journey is marked by destiny, love and chance, which led them to transform this castle into a place dedicated to wine excellence.

      The terroir and the vines

Château Lestevenie benefits from a unique terroir characterized by limestone and clay-limestone soils, ideal for growing vines.

The vines, cultivated with care, produce grapes of exceptional quality, allowing the production of wines with subtle and complex aromas.

The estate is dedicated to the production of Bergerac AOC red, white and rosé wines, and Saussignac AOC, each vintage reflecting the typicality of the Bergerac terroir.

Winemaking methods and respect for the environment

At Château Lestevenie, winemaking is an art that combines traditional know-how and modern techniques.

Cultivation and production methods respect the principles of sustainable agriculture, minimizing environmental impact. The wines are made with careful attention to every step, from manual harvesting of the grapes to fermentation and aging in vats and barrels. This approach guarantees high quality wines, fully expressing the potential of the terroir.

      Award-winning and recognized wines

Château Lestevenie wines have been awarded numerous times, testifying to their quality and unique character.

Each bottle tells a story, that of an estate where passion and know-how combine to offer authentic and elegant wines. Whether for a tasting or to accompany a meal, the wines of Château Lestevenie will appeal to amateurs and connoisseurs alike.

Activities and events at the estate

Château Lestevenie offers a range of activities allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the world of viticulture. Commented tastings are organized to discover the estate's different vintages.

The estate regularly hosts events, such as vineyard picnics, lunch at Lestevenie and their unforgettable summer soirees.

What an awesome visit! We had a very warm welcome from Jaco, who passionately shared with us the history and process of the vineyard. With a small range of very high-quality surprising wines, it's a must-go for when you want to visit and have a winetasting. We'll definitely come back :)

We had a great evening at Lestevenie! Jaco & Petrie have worked so hard to get things up and running, and the place looks amazing. We attended one of the several soirée dates and were met with great wine, great ambience, amazing views and incredible food truck style food. The local French jazz DJ made for the perfect combination. James & Lyndsey July ‘24
