  We took the route from Cazoulès to St. Julien. It is a lovely stretch on the Dordogne downstream with calm wide stretches and the occasional faster flowing areas of river. There are pebble beaches that you can stop off at for a rest or picnic along the way and they give you plenty of time to complete the trip. This route you are bussed to the start so get to finish where you park just after the bridge which is a bonus. The staff are helpful and speak both French and English.

  Scary experience We hired 4 kayaks as a family and wasn’t aware of how dangerous it is On part of the 2 hour journey down the river we hit some fast moving water rapids and my elderly parents boat turned upside down and they got dragged under the water where trees had fallen down and they ended up smashing their legs and cutting them, losing sunglasses and items and feared they was going to die from drowning. I had to jump into the water to save them all . They was extremely frightened by this experience and did not want to continue. The only problem is once you start your journey you cannot stop. The water had an under current and we got dragged under! If trees and dangerous rocks cannot be removed from the river - please put signs up warning your customers of the areas to avoid, navigation signs and danger signs for trees and obstacles in the river

  We rented a two person canoe with our dog. We started at 9am and had plenty of time to reach the end. It was a stunning journey and we loved it. The price is good and the folk working are super lovely. We weren’t entirely confident that we had finished at the right place because there are SO MANY kayaking companies and Cap Evasion had no sign or anything but just as promised they arrived to collect us bang on time exactly where the map said so have faith! Thanks guys for a beautiful day of cool caves, amazing chateaus and loads of wildlife. We definitely recommend using this company.
