    • With CanoSphère, we offer you walks where sport, history, culture and wonder combine! It's not that complicated because we are in the heart of Black Perigord, a land of history and Nature, on the banks of the most beautiful river in Europe: the Dordogne!

Our program: we invite you to paddle your paddles to discover the sumptuous landscapes of the Châteaux of Beynac, Castelnaud, Fayrac, Marqueyssac but also La Roque-Gageac, one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Canosphere is a canoe base which is ideally located near Sarlat, at the foot of the Bastide de Domme, at the entrance of Cénac and Saint Julien. We have our feet in the water to allow you to embark with complete peace of mind on the Dordogne river.

The Canosphere space also offers you the possibility of eating on site at the tavern on the bridge, also very appreciated after a rather sporty day on the water to have a refreshing drink or enjoy an ice cream!

Holidays in the Dordogne are often gastronomic marathons, Canosphere invites you to come and burn your calories along the water in an idyllic setting, with an eco-responsible dimension because we are winners in 2019 and 2021 of the " Biosphere Reserve Prize" awarded by UNESCO !

The history route is the longest route, 25 km, and the most complete, the one which offers you all the wonderful landscapes of Périgord. Discover the Cathar castle of Montfort, the medieval fortresses which during the Hundred Years' War marked the border between the kingdom of France ( castle of Beynac and castle of Marqueyssac ) and the kingdom of England (Châteaux de Beynac and Fayrac) but also the Bastide of Domme as well as the ancient port of La Roque-Gageac and its troglodyte village built on the side of a cliff.

Sporty and less sporty, there are different formats of walks at Canosphere, so that everyone can find what they are looking for, ours being to transmit our passion for the river and to share with you the riches of Périgord.

So for lovers of wild nature, we also offer " the cliff route" and "the wild route ".

Be attentive and you will then discover a whole fauna which discreetly populates the Dordogne valley, the last river in Europe with eight species of migratory fish but also migratory nesting birds of prey , perhaps you will then have the chance to observe the marvelous royal kite…

The views were amazing. Losing a star as we had kayaks that did not have plugs and we got very wet. We even mentioned it to the driver dropping us off and nothing happened with it. We ended up actually changing to a canoe at a stop about halfway through. We enjoy kayaks more so changing to a canoe wasn’t the best, but being dry was better. Assistance at the stops and the initial departure was good.

We are a family of four and our 13 year son has special educational needs. He is over 6 foot and 85kg. We were a little apprehensive but received a warm welcome at Cenac. The first trip was up stream from Carsac to Cenac. Fantastuc trip in robust canoes, amazing scenery, tranquil nice early trip in minibus to avoid midday sun. We enjoyed it so much we returned two days later and did down stream trip to Les Milandes. Fabulous, really enjoyable, shallow and rocky, fast flowing, weeds, little & big fish, ( I saw a 10lb+ trout so if you are into fishing there is some good sport), trees and lots of nature. This must be the lowest carbon footprint of any holiday trip. €20, 3 hours for each trip. We took picnic and was provided with large watertight container. Great kit, staff and amazing holiday experience for all the family.

Definitely recommend a canoe trip..we did the 25km and it was fairly easy paddling as you go with the current. Plenty of time for picnicking. Good collection and drop off. No problems at all
