    • CanoSphère, our eco-responsible canoe base, at the foot of the Bastide de Domme, offers you the most beautiful walks on the waters of the Dordogne.

On the banks of the Dordogne river, in Cénac and Saint Julien, in the heart of the Périgord Noir, discover the CanoSphère space (canoe base and guinguette) during your stay in the Dordogne.

Canoeing is a tradition in Périgord. To be convinced of this, you just need to discover the 1937 photos by Robert Doisneau presented at the old Carlux station (renamed Robert Doisneau station) as part of a permanent exhibition.

CanoSphère is part of this history by offering walks as close as possible to the magnificent landscapes offered by the Dordogne river. Our base is ideally located at the foot of the Bastide de Domme, at the Cénac bridge. This is a perfect location because it is at the junction of the castle walk and our wild trail (a walk that reflects the spirit of our canoe base).

Indeed, the castle walk will allow you to discover the castle of Beynac, the fortress of Castelnaud la Chapelle, the estate and castle of Fayrac, or even to see the gardens of Marqueyssac. Our departures are continuous between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. every day, but it is certain that by leaving in the morning, the day is yours! Along the water between contemplation of unique landscapes, discovery of majestic medieval buildings, punctuate your journey with a Périgord picnic and refreshing swims in the transparent waters of the Dordogne. The river offers many natural stops which are unforgettable moments, believe us!

For the wild course, we have a single shuttle departure in the morning from the base. An itinerary to discover the preserved areas of Périgord and the magic of the fauna of the Dordogne river with its discreet inhabitants ( otters, egrets, kingfishers, etc.). Don't forget that the Dordogne is a unique biosphere reserve in Europe and we give you the keys to understanding its ecosystem!

With the cliff route , a slightly shorter route, with a distance of 12 km, set off to discover the most beautiful landscapes of the valley! Superb cliffs await you, a unique meander ( the Cingle de Montfort ), picturesque villages, the Château de Montfort as well as exceptional fauna and flora.

The cliff route , like the wild route, will definitely inspire you!

CanoSphère is the first canoe base in the Dordogne committed to protecting biodiversity. Winner in 2019 and 2021 of the " Biosphere Reserve Prize " awarded by UNESCO and winner of the "Innovation and Tourism Trophy" from France Bleu Périgord.

Choosing CanoSphère to travel the river by canoe also means choosing useful tourism because we contribute to the financing of environmental defense projects in the Dordogne. We are Members of 1% for the planet .

The views were amazing. Losing a star as we had kayaks that did not have plugs and we got very wet. We even mentioned it to the driver dropping us off and nothing happened with it. We ended up actually changing to a canoe at a stop about halfway through. We enjoy kayaks more so changing to a canoe wasn’t the best, but being dry was better. Assistance at the stops and the initial departure was good.

We are a family of four and our 13 year son has special educational needs. He is over 6 foot and 85kg. We were a little apprehensive but received a warm welcome at Cenac. The first trip was up stream from Carsac to Cenac. Fantastuc trip in robust canoes, amazing scenery, tranquil nice early trip in minibus to avoid midday sun. We enjoyed it so much we returned two days later and did down stream trip to Les Milandes. Fabulous, really enjoyable, shallow and rocky, fast flowing, weeds, little & big fish, ( I saw a 10lb+ trout so if you are into fishing there is some good sport), trees and lots of nature. This must be the lowest carbon footprint of any holiday trip. €20, 3 hours for each trip. We took picnic and was provided with large watertight container. Great kit, staff and amazing holiday experience for all the family.

Definitely recommend a canoe trip..we did the 25km and it was fairly easy paddling as you go with the current. Plenty of time for picnicking. Good collection and drop off. No problems at all
