    • THE ABBEY RESTAURANT IN SAINT CYPRIEN: AUTHENTIC CUISINE IN THE HEART OF THE BLACK PÉRIGORD

      A historic and warm setting

Located in Saint Cyprien, in the heart of the Périgord Noir, the L'Abbaye restaurant offers a unique setting to enjoy traditional cuisine.

Housed in a former abbey, this establishment combines the historic charm of the place with a warm atmosphere, conducive to relaxation and the discovery of local flavors.

The architecture of the building, with its exposed stone and wooden beams, immerses guests in an authentic atmosphere that recalls the rich history of the region.

The spacious and bright restaurant room is tastefully decorated, highlighting the local heritage while offering modern comfort.

      Regional cuisine showcasing local products

The restaurant of L'Abbaye is distinguished by its traditional cuisine, made from fresh and local products. Each dish is prepared with care, respecting the ancestral recipes of the Périgord Noir while adding a contemporary touch.

The ingredients come mainly from local producers, thus guaranteeing impeccable freshness and quality.

The specialties offered highlight the gastronomic riches of the region, such as foie gras, duck breast and black truffle. Among the restaurant's emblematic dishes, we find the supreme of poultry with truffle crumbs, accompanied by its gratin dauphinois, or the duck breast with honey sauce, served with Sarladaise potatoes. These dishes reflect the attention paid to the selection of products and the preparation of dishes, in accordance with the Périgord culinary tradition.

Varied menus to suit all tastes

The restaurant at L'Abbaye offers a varied menu, designed to satisfy all desires. Large salads, such as the Caesar Salad or the Périgourdine Salad, offer a light but tasty option, ideal for a sunny lunch on the restaurant's terrace. For fish lovers, the salmon steak and its julienne of vegetables, accompanied by a Messina sauce, is a delicate and refined alternative.

The restaurant makes a point of renewing its menu according to the seasons, in order to respect the natural cycle of the products and to offer dishes in keeping with the times of year.

Whether for a weekday lunch or a dinner with friends on the weekend, the L'Abbaye restaurant knows how to adapt to different occasions, while maintaining a consistent level of quality.

      Opening hours and practical information

The restaurant at L'Abbaye is open all year round, with opening hours adapted to the season. During the high season, from the beginning of April to the end of October, the restaurant is open every day except Thursday, with lunch service from 12:00 to 14:00 and dinner service from 19:00 to 22:00. During the low season, from November to March, opening hours are reduced with lunch service from Monday to Wednesday and dinner service from Friday to Sunday.

It is highly recommended to book in advance, especially in high season, to guarantee a place in this place popular with gourmets and lovers of traditional cuisine.

Discover the surroundings: a rich and diverse heritage

The Périgord Noir, the region where Saint Cyprien is located, is rich in sites of interest and activities to discover within a radius of 30 km around the restaurant of L'Abbaye. Hiking enthusiasts will be delighted by the many trails that wind through the surrounding forests and hills, offering breathtaking panoramas of the Dordogne valley.

Among the must-sees, the Château de Beynac, perched on a rocky spur, offers a breathtaking view of the valley. A few kilometers away, the Lascaux cave , famous for its prehistoric paintings, is a must-see for history and heritage enthusiasts.

Local markets, such as the one in Sarlat-la-Canéda, allow you to discover local products, such as cheeses, honeys, and truffles. Many small producers also open their doors to visitors for tastings and direct sales, allowing you to take home a piece of the Périgord Noir.

Finally, the banks of the Dordogne offer multiple possibilities for outdoor activities, such as canoe trips, which allow you to discover the region from a different angle. Whether for a gastronomic getaway or a cultural discovery, the surroundings of Saint Cyprien will not fail to seduce visitors in search of authenticity and nature.

Charming hotel with a lovely family who made us feel completely at home. They opened the swimming pool for us and prepared a quick snack in the afternoon when ee arrived. Good supper and breakfast. We will come back when we are next in the dordogne. Strongly recommended.

Awesome hotel - what a great find! This recently opened hotel was just perfect. It was exactly what we were looking for - a quiet, gorgeous hotel in a sleepy French town (but a town with all the amenities you need; Weekly market, great bakery, good array of shops, pubs and restaurants with very pretty architecture). The hotel itself is magic - the owners were delightful and nothing was ever too much trouble. It is the perfect place to chill by the pool and enjoy evening drinks on the terrace. Make sure you have dinner in the hotel as the food is excellent - far better and way less crowded than any restaurant in nearby Sarlat! Great value for money, clean and comfortable bedrooms. Will definitely be recommending this place.
