Nestled in the heart of a green setting, Urval offers a journey through time to its visitors during a stay in Périgord.
A return to the immediate past
One of the emblems of Urval is undoubtedly its fortified Romanesque church from the 11th century. This imposing building bears witness to a time when villages had to defend themselves. Its thick walls and towers give it a very characteristic medieval appearance.
A rare vestige of feudal life, discover the communal oven which dates from the 14th century. It recalls the “banalities”, these rights that the lords collected on the use of common equipment such as the oven, the pressure or the mill.
Likewise, the village is dotted with pretty stone houses, typical of the Périgord. Their slate roofs and golden stone facades give them a rustic charm.
