At the Moulin de la Rouzique, the guide retraces with you all the history of the place and the stages of paper making through the different rooms by setting in motion different mechanisms of the mill (models, paddle wheel, round shape machine...). In turn, come and activate the paddle wheel and discover a know-how by making your own sheet of paper !
The mission of the mill team is above all to make you discover the gestures related to the manufacture of handmade paper through visits, demonstrations and workshops. During the event days, visitors are also offered meetings with associations, craftsmen and enthusiasts who work on paper-related projects. At the end of your visit, observe a rich collection of watermarks, some of which date back to the Middle Ages.
This mill continues the tradition of paper made of hemp, linen and cotton fibre since the 15th century. At the end of the 19th century, Couze et Saint-Front sheltered up to 13 paper mills on only a few kilometres of the river called the Couze.
