The Verdots Vineyard, modern structures for quality wines

The underground cellar

This little gem carved out of the rock is almost invisible to those unfamiliar with the area. Located beneath your feet, the underground cellar reveals 600 m² of space designed to house 200 barrels for maturing, aging, and storing the wine. Take the time to admire the aging barrels, crafted by five passionate coopers, magnificent wooden casks that watch over the wine and give it character and distinctiveness.

The winemaking cellar

An essential part of the production of the great wines of Bergerac and Monbazillac, the wine cellar is a privileged space to admire the work of the fruit. The grapes and bunches arrive by a conveyor belt before being vinified in truncated cone-shaped vats, modern installations for preserved quality.

The Verdots Vineyard, essential steps to follow

Working the vineyard is a passion shared by each member of the Vignoble des Verdots team who carefully watch over the 66 hectares of grapes, spread over 3 terroirs with the AOP Bergerac, AOP Côtes-de-Bergerac, and AOP Monbazillac vintages.

• First, the grape harvest takes up all their time, harvesting the red and white grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec for the reds, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Muscadelle for the whites.
• The fruit then arrives at the cellar where it will be vinified, while gravity carries out the punching down work naturally.
• It continues its journey in the underground cellar where 3 rackings are carried out during aging.
• Blending, filtering and bottling are the next steps, carried out on the property.
• Stored on galvanized steel pallets of 600 bottles, the wine returns to the cellar to be stored in optimal conditions, aging quietly in barrels unique to each vintage.

It is with love and kindness that the entire team at Vignoble des Verdots maintains the soil and the vines, a desire to preserve the richness of this particular terroir. An in-depth study of the soils was carried out in 1998 to organize meticulous work in harmony with the environment, offering unique wines with subtle and complex aromas. More than a commitment, it is a real environmental approach that is implemented through a vitiforestry policy and the obtaining of the High Environmental Value Certification HVE3.

The Verdots Vineyard, exceptional wines to be enjoyed with or without moderation

After your visit, head to the winery to find your favorite wine gem. The estate produces three wine ranges, each with its own unique character and characteristics:

• Original Verdots, the vineyard's signature range between the gourmet and fruity Bergerac red, the aromatic and fruity dry Bergerac, the sweet and gourmet Bergerac rosé and the generous and sweet Bacchus.
• The Tours des Verdots , a subtle blend that offers a complex and elegant dry Bergerac, a rich and peppery red Côtes de Bergerac and a smooth and fragrant Monbazillac.
• Grand Vin "Les Verdots" are vintages for aging, a unique expression of this exceptional terroir. You will find the powerful Côtes de Bergerac red with roasted notes, the elegant and aromatic dry Bergerac, and the Monbazillac with its complex and delicious aromas of candied fruit.
