    • Having its origins in the 13th century, the Moulin de la Veyssière, located in Neuvic, in the heart of Périgord blanc, is today almost a thousand years old. The last active mill in the Vern valley, we produce oils and flours with character: walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds and peanuts. Our oils are made in an artisanal way, following family know-how passed down since 1857.

Between history and gastronomy, our artisanal manufacturing is associated with responsible and sustainable production, in perpetual search for innovation and excellence.

As true enthusiasts of our French terroirs, we pay particular attention to the selection of our raw materials. Exclusively from local productions, our production is 100% French.

Our priority is to help you discover our heritage and our know-how. We therefore welcome you all year round at the Moulin de la Veyssière, in conviviality and good humor! We offer free 30-minute guided tours, which will reveal all the secrets of our oils and our history. At the end of the visit, a tasting of our oils will be offered to you.

And because quality is today a militant act, we have made it our priority. Since 2015, we have been recognized as a Quality Artisan Producer by the Culinary College of France. Our oils have also won awards in various competitions. We notably obtained a gold medal at the 2023 General Agricultural Competition for our PDO Périgord walnut oil.

You will find all our oils and flours, as well as a selection of gourmet products made in an artisanal way in our shop located in the old mill bakery.

Oil production all year round from Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

      The mill welcomes you:

      • From September to June:

      - Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
      - Saturday: 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.

      • From July to August:

      - Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
      - Saturday: 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

      Useful information :

      • Free visit, without reservation, free tasting
      • Tours depart every 30 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Not many working walnut Mills left in operation that you can get a free guided tour of. English tours accommodated. Fascinating tour, and the opportunity to buy the local produce after the free sampling. Set in lovely surroundings. Well worth a visit.

Very authentic and interesting place with something "unique", as before I didn't know about oil from nuts. And I was amazed how all the equipment is preserved and still used.

First-hand knowledge of 18th-century hydel power oil mill. Best place to bring growing up children to show how their great grand parents live. A guided visit is absolutely free, which is amazing, so we bought some homemade oils and homemade candies. The English speaking guide is beautiful. She explained very well. Must visit and buy homemade items to encourage them.
