    • Founded in 1133 under the rule of Saint Augustine, it was built in white stone from the surrounding quarries. The abbey church is topped with a square bell tower on its dome. It features a superb "Christ with Outrages", attributed to Van Honthorst, and walnut stalls distributed throughout the choir.

Under the protection of the bishops of Périgueux and the Holy See, it quickly prospered and enjoyed great privileges before falling into the hands of the English during the Hundred Years' War. From decline to decline, the abbey regained its lost prosperity under Abbot Alain de Solminihac. During the Revolution, it became a national asset.

An Augustinian abbey founded in 1129, a typical example of Romanesque monastic architecture. Recently added contemporary buildings contain a new community house on the site. Harmony between styles...

The remains of the abbey are located in an isolated and quiet spot. The main abbey church and small adjacent chapel are interesting but not of special note. The contrast between the cavernous...
