    • There is no better time than May, June or September to make a getaway to the Dordogne . The first reason is that the accommodations at the Moulin de David are offered at very low prices .

The second is that all the tourist sites are open and their attendance is still low, which allows you to discover them peacefully, at your own pace. And there are many remarkable sites not far from the Moulin de David campsite.

The two closest are the bastide of Monpazier, classified among " The Most Beautiful Villages of France " and the remarkable Château de Biron , one of the four baronies of Dordogne. These two sites are also so close to the campsite that they are accessible on foot by hiking trails.

You can also enjoy the peace and quiet of the 16 ha of the Moulin de David to relax and enjoy the campsite's facilities. As soon as the campsite opens in high season, services such as the grocery store, on-site baking of bread and pastries, the bar and the brasserie are operational.

We’ve had a fabulous week at this campsite. The owner and staff are so friendly. Amazing cleanliness of the shower blocks and pool. So many activities and inclusive animation in the evening. No matter what nationality all were made to feel welcome. The on-site restaurant was great for a couple of nights too. We stumbled across this site as a last min and are so glad we find it. Pretty Monpazier is a 45 min walk along woodland paths, fields and quiet roads. Chateau Biron only 3km and lovely rolling cycling all around.

Very nice campsite. It’s large and stretched out over a little valley. We were staying in the Kenya lodge, which was well equipped and in a nice shady and quiet area of the campsite. The only negative about the tent is the beds, they are too short for large Dutch people. It is quite a walk from there to the pool or lake. There is plenty to do for the kids, but in the end there is not great animation ( only French speaking when we were there) that creates coherence between the kids. There is plenty of entertainment focussed on adults. The restaurant is ok as long as you stick with a pizza or a hamburger 🙈. Quite close to medieval towns, bastille’s, the Dordogne river and the Biron castle. Nice owners and helpful staff 👍 We had a good time !

I was at the campsite for one night off-season with sore feet after a long walk so didn't get to use the totality of the offering. Nevertheless, I was made to feel extremely welcome and the host went out of his way to make me feel at home. Very nice IPA from Sarlat as well! Bravo monsieur. The pitch for the tent was good and the adjacent showers and toilets were exactly what I needed. Monpazier is about 2 miles away and is a spectacular mediaeval walled town famous for its artists. Well worth a proper explore. I hope you get a chance to visit. Aye. Fraser.
