    • Campsite Maisonneuve is located in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, on the Céou greenway cycle route! An ideal location for sports enthusiasts looking for accommodation where they can enjoy nature, calm and sunshine, as well as all the heritage attractions of the Dordogne Valley.

The Céou is a small, very pure and fresh river, a tributary of the Dordogne, which flows through the middle of the charming Céou Valley. Just by doing the Céou cliffs, acclaimed as one of the best climbing sites in the department and of the region! The Céou Valley is dotted with small charming villages, which can be discovered by taking the Céou greenway cycle route, perfect with family or friends. Go along the walnut trees, the fields, cross the villages and let yourself be carried away by an exotic journey, along this rather flat route (rare in our region!).

Campsite Maisonneuve was created 60 years ago by the grandparents of Mathilde and Lucie, the current managers. This family farm was once called upon by climbers to camp at the foot of the magnificent cliffs overlooking the valley. An experience that gave this peasant family ideas for retraining! It is still a family place today, with a quality ethic and the desire to introduce everyone to the joys of campsite.

A stopover gite for hikers, pilgrims, for everyone!

The Stopover Gîte is open all year round, it can accommodate 11 people, hikers or pilgrims. It is on the way to Santiago de Compostela, a variant from Bergerac to Rocamadour, the "Cami Romiou" (in fr). It is possible to rent it by the night, even in season.

It consists on the ground floor of an American kitchen with everything necessary for cooking and cleaning, the kitchen is open to a dining room with a sofa bed. There is also a bathroom with 2 shower cabins, 2 toilets and 2 sinks. Upstairs, the sleeping area consists of 1 bedroom with 3 90x190 beds, 1 bedroom with 1 140x190 bed, 1 dormitory with 2 90x190 beds and 2 90x190 bunk beds. Outside, you have a private park with covered terrace, summer kitchen with plancha, garden furniture, deck chairs, parasols and barbecue, private parking.

      Services at Campsite Maisonneuve

The campsite also offers 140 accommodations, for tents, motorhomes or caravans. Located in the countryside, it is a haven of peace. Some are on the banks of the Céou with individual access to the river, which is cool and beneficial. Safari tents (a perfect version for those who want to camp, but without a tent!) are available, as well as a dozen comfortable mobile homes. A   unusual cabin-type accommodation for 3x2 people, connected by a footbridge, is ideal   for hikers or groups of friends who come to climb.

Campsite Maisonneuve has a heated infinity pool, with a paddling pool for children and wide and welcoming beaches to relax on a deckchair. For your moments of festive catering, the campsite has a restaurant open from the end of June to the end of August, and an adjacent bar (open from April to October).

This is one of the nicest sites I have ever stayed at however the pitch we had is one of the worst. I would definitely come back but would pay to select a pitch. PROS: Incredible area, so close to so many places to walk to, cycle to and drive to Very close to a pretty village with an incredible bakery Beautiful swimming at the river which is accessible directly at the site. The photos, which are amazing, don't do it justice A really lovely bar, with a great restaurant A nice pool area with plenty of sunbeds, even in August Very friendly and welcoming bar and restaurant staff The atmosphere is very friendly There are many excellent pitches, including those next to the river. Happy hour in the bar between 6-7pm! CONS: Some pitches are awful and I'd say we had the worst on the site. People walked across our pitch and we had to put a bike in the way to block them. The end of our campervan awning was 30cm from the road and we didn't have any space to set up a table and chairs outside. We were situated right next to the barrier (2m), opposite the park (10m) , in front of the bar (5m) and by the toilets (15m). The pitch was obviously very noisy and sleep wasn't an option until the bar closed, some evenings this was close to 1am. This would not affect pitches other than those right by the bar. This really is a lovely site and we did book late. I would not have booked this site had I seen the pitch on a map.

We were recommended this site by a friend, and it did not disappoint in the slightest. It's a very friendly atmosphere. The pitches are spacious, the pool is lovely and heated with nice views. We wild definitely go back. Highly recommend.

Sssshh! I don't want you to know about this magical place! The location is in a beautiful tranquil valley, cloaked by wooded hillside. The river Ceou flows past the site with crystal clear water, perfect for a dip. The amenities are clean and perfectly preserved. July and August are extremely popular months, but the campsite is at its best in June.
