The land of gluttony:
Sorges is known by gourmets around the world as the capital of the black truffle, the famous “tuber melanosporum”. Sorges dedicated an ecomuseum to his black diamond, created in 1982.
Events:- the big “Truffle and Fat Festival” (last weekend of January),
- the controlled truffle markets (Sunday mornings from December to February).
To see in Sorges:- its magnificent Romanesque church (12th century), • the remains of a medieval castle,
- remains of a medieval fortified castle,
- several historic residences (medieval/renaissance)
To do in Sorges:- hiking trails (40 km),
- a truffle discovery tour,
- take advantage of the leisure and sports areas (swimming pool, tennis, skateboarding, etc.).
To know :
the Tourist Office is open all year round and is in close contact with the Truffle ecomuseum.
