It was so fantastic! Beautiful room with large windows. Benoit, one of the waiters, was so friendly and helpful! The perfect waiter! The food was magnificent! The foie gras was the best we have had in France. The risotto w/ mint and hazelnuts was also so delicious. The gnocchi with cheese and truffles was excellent but quite small for a main course. The chicken w polenta was also magnificent. Desserts were very good too. All of the food was so gorgeously presented and tasty. There is a Bernaise mountain dog named Ted who lives in the attached hotel - sweet but shy. We will come back for dinner tonight or tomorrow!!

It seems all the good reviews are from the French and any complaints come from non-French people, like us. We can manage in French but our accent (English Canadian) gives us away so when they ask us if we speak English we switch back to English. Three different people came and took our drink order like we were some kind of « English » speaking exhibit as in “Go and listen to them order their drinks in English. It will be good practice for you”. I have to admit the food was delicious and worthy of the Michelin designation but those who were seated after us had their food before us!! We were not impressed! Even though four people took our drink order, no one seemed to pay much attention to looking after us after that and we had to catch a waiter’s eye for any reason after that. Shouldn’t serving and treating all customers the same be part of that designation?

Perhaps I had an 'off day in the kitchen' experience but the lunch I had was tasteless and of poor quality. I had stuffed tomatoes. A few small tomatoes, thick walled tomatoes with a bit of couscous.
