      A village of character

      Nestled in the heart of the Dordogne, halfway between Sarlat and Montignac-Lascaux, Saint-Geniès is classified among the “ villages of character of Périgord ”. Its ochre stone houses with slate roofs, typical of the region, create a warm atmosphere.


      A historical heritage

      The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption

      This 12th century Romanesque church is a true architectural masterpiece. Its sober and elegant façade and its bright interior make it an essential place of worship.


      The remains of the castle

      A few steps from the church, you can admire the remains of the first keep of Saint-Geniès. This castle, which disappeared at the end of the Wars of Religion, offers an insight into the tumultuous history of the village.


      The Cheylard chapel and the Grande Filolie castle

      These two buildings, located near Saint-Geniès, are also places steeped in history and worth a visit.
