    • Located in Saint-Crépin-et-Carlucet, a few minutes from Sarlat-la-Canéda, very close to the Gardens of the Manoir d'Eyrignac, you will discover the Lacypierre Castle, built between the 15th and 17th centuries, on a stump of 13th century.

The building, built on either side of a hexagonal tower, has a square tower housing a dovecote and a slate roof.

Let yourself be told by Isabelle and Florence, the owners, the history of the Bénié de Lacypierre family and the history of the restoration of the castle by their parents.

Also discover refined and warm interiors: antique furniture, works of art, collection of antique earthenware, as well as the attic with slate roofs.

      VISITS:

      • Open from May to October 2023
      • From May to September every day at 3 p.m. without reservation
      • In October on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. without reservation

Beautiful small castle lovely renovated by Isabelle - our guide - and her family. It was one of the highlights of our stay, make sure to visit and hear its fascinating story as it’s definitely worth it. There’a also a lovely circular walk around the area starting from just outside the castle, along easy paths through beautiful woodland.

With so many castles in the area it’s difficult to pick the right ones to visit if you’re on holidays. By chance, we visited this one today. And it was one of the most interesting tours we have attended, although the guide (the daughter of the latest owners) only spoke French and I don’t understand 90% of it. She provided a written guide, extremely detailed. The castle’s history, but mainly the family story and the chateau restoration process are amazing!!

Beautiful small chateau, restored lovingly by its owners. Wonderful history given by the owner in French but also an English guidebook. Only downside is its not self guided so if you don't speak French you spend a lot of time waiting around, although the hostess does try to speak as slowly as she can. Really enjoyed it.

We visited and the sign said it was open for tours, but during the thirty minutes we were there, no one appeared for a tour. It is a small manor house, not a castle. It is lovely. There are very...

Not a proper review as we have not been inside as the limited opening times have not worked for us. Why the review? A picture of this place hands on our lounge wall form our first visit to the area...
