Journiac is a small village, located in the black Périgord, a few kilometers from the Vézère Valley. There is also one of its tributaries, the “ Ruisseau de Journiac”, which runs towards Le Bugue 6 km further on. It supplies a wash house as well as formerly hydraulic mill installations used since Antiquity to produce foodstuffs such as walnut oil, flour... Journiac is nestled in the heart of a forest valley and there are 2 loops of marked hiking and a multitude of small roads, they can also be toured by bike.
In Journiac, people come to walk in the village, meet the producers but also to visit: At any time of the year, come and walk the path of remembrance of the Maquis de Durestal, where you will learn more about life Périgordins that guerrillas during the Second World War. In summer, theatrical tours are organized or with an audio guide.
For children, Journiac is simply paradise, since a multitude of leisure parks are on site to amuse them! In summer, meet at Jacquou Park, an amusement park with 2 universes: one with rides (old, funfair too) and the other with water games, enough to spend a day of magic on the spot! UniverLand is another park with activities such as karting, a trampoline park and inflatable games for children, a virtual reality play area and a lazer quest.
