More than 1000 years ago, perched 50m above the river, our medieval stonemasons converted these caves into troglodyte rooms of a fort nestled in the heart of the cliff. In the 1900s, an intrepid man rolled up his sleeves to transform this fort into a cave hotel, perhaps the first in history !
