There is strength in unity: a leisure lake created to unite and energize

The Lac de Rouffiac is quite a story. Born of a joint desire to have a leisure and sports center, 4 municipalities of the Périgord Vert are grouped together and develop a beautiful natural area of 100 hectares. We are in 1984, Angoisse, Payzac, Lanouaille and Savignac-Lédrier are not on the main tourist routes and wish to acquire an asset that enhances the local natural heritage. A body of water of more than 40 hectares was created (fed by local streams), with a beach, leisure facilities and from 1988, an accommodation center for groups (schools , summer camps, etc.). Entertainment is organized regularly and the lake, also open to the public, is popular with locals and holidaymakers alike!

In 1998, the union which manages the lake hands over to the Department, for various organizational and financial reasons (a heavy burden for these small rural communities…). The Semitour becomes manager and all together, the actors of this green tourism develop the strong points of the lake and its green space. We are putting a lot of emphasis on welcoming group, with a flexible capacity of 300 to 500 beds and in 2021/2022, the campsite for groups and the accommodation center will be completely renovated, to open up prospects for companies, seminars, conferences, a great added value for the territory!

Rouffiac leisure center, a multitude of things to do there!

Rouffiac is a small town, an ecosystem that works well to offer high quality activities and leisure activities in Périgord to everyone, supervised by approved instructors. You can come and spend a day there, or a stay of several days without ever getting bored. It offers a wide and original range of activities, which are either propelled individually, such as the water ski lift for wake-boarding, tree climbing or the rental of pedal boats, SUP... are organized and bookable through the he active summer, a program supported by the Department to offer everyone fun at low prices. You can canoe, climb, enjoy archery lessons, slackline, optimist, windsurf, participate in life-size escape games, take canoe lessons, do zipline, on site (and many other things).

Are in addition to this, the pleasures of swimming in the lake (supervised during the season by lifeguards and with a tiralo for disabled), the happiness to walk around the lake on the trail of hiking... Take or rent a bike on site (there is a brand new bike park!), and take the children to have fun on the children's play structure. The Rouffiac leisure center campsite

The leisure center is fitted out with a very pretty 3-star campsite (affiliated with Flower Camping), entirely nestled in the vegetation… Perfect for hot summer days, you are always cool on very large pitches! If you prefer the comfort of a rental, come and discover the park of brand new mobile homes and wooden chalets, for 1 to 2 families, surrounded by large trees in the saving shade. 33 rentals, available all year round because the Rouffiac leisure center campsite is a fishing and hiking stop. Nature walking is what brings families together on vacation in Périgord Vert. From the campsite or by driving for a few minutes, it's the great outdoors, you breathe deeply! And for the aficionados of the visits, you are 30/45 minutes from the Périgord Noir and its great cultural and tourist sites. The Château de Hautefort is a few minutes away, as well as the Forges de Savignac-Lédrier, the Vélorail du Périgord Vert, the Château de Jumilhac, the Caves of Tourtoirac, the Papeterie de Vaux...

On site, the campsite has a small shop with sweets from local producers, fruits, vegetables, preserves... You can also enjoy a snack, a bread deposit. Activity reservations are made directly at the campsite reception, which also offers (just for campsite customers) an arrival drink and group entertainment every day, enough to make friends quickly!

Lac de Rouffiac is such a large place that walking or sailing there always makes you feel at peace. If the beach is cheerfully lively in summer, there is always room for your car and towel, children play safely and parents enjoy a moment of relaxation!
