    • CANOE AND KAYAK RENTAL IN LIMEUIL WITH AQUAFUN

Aquafun, located in Limeuil in the Périgord Noir, offers a unique canoe and kayak rental experience on the Vézère and Dordogne rivers. This nautical base, established in one of the most beautiful villages in France, is ideal for lovers of water sports and nature. Visitors can enjoy a variety of excursions suitable for all levels, from family outings to more sporty adventures.

      Canoe trips on the Dordogne

Taking a canoe trip on the Dordogne is an opportunity to explore the “Espérance River”. This route allows you to discover castles , gardens , and medieval hilltop villages such as La Roque-Gageac , Beynac , Saint-Cyprien, Siorac, and Le Buisson. With routes ranging from 5 to 32 km, everyone can choose a route according to their abilities and desires. Although the river is not dangerous, it is essential to know how to swim and wear a life jacket. For example, a 32 km walk requires approximately 8 hours of paddling. These excursions can also be done independently over several days, allowing complete immersion in nature.

Canoe kayak trips on the Vézère

A canoe kayak trip on the Vézère offers a more intimate and wild experience. The Vézère valley is known for its steep cliffs and picturesque landscapes. Departures are from emblematic places like La Roque Saint-Christophe, Tursac, Les Eyzies, Campagne, and Le Bugue. The routes vary from 8 to 31 km and are suitable for family outings thanks to shaded beaches perfect for breaks. Navigation on the Vézère is easy and offers many surprises along the route, with small beaches to relax and admire the landscape.

      Facilities at the Aquafun base

The Aquafun base in Alles-sur-Dordogne, located opposite Limeuil, offers several amenities to ensure a pleasant experience.

Free parking is available, allowing visitors to park easily. Back at the base, a refreshment bar offers refreshments and ice creams to enjoy while admiring the view of the village of Limeuil.

      Timetables and practical information

Aquafun is open from May 1 to September 20, every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is imperative to return equipment no later than 6 p.m. to ensure everyone's safety. Excursions can be booked for canoes and kayaks, solo or in groups of 2-3 people.

Brilliant place, we went as family for an hour and half kayak. Our boys age 16 and 13 went back a few days later to do a longer paddle (12km) Scenery and tranquility is stunning. The staff are fabulous. They speak English which was helpful as my French is shamefully poor. They drive you to drop off Points for you to paddle back to. Highly recommend the cafe across the way too.

This was one of the best days’ fun I’ve had a long time. We had a family party of six people, and hired three kayaks. Cyril and Harry at Aquafun were extremely friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. It took us just a few hours to paddle down the river stopping for a picnic break on the way. The river isn’t especially deep and even people who are afraid of water would be fine with this. Booking was easy and both Cyril and Harry spoke fluent English. Thank you guys for an amazing day, you can be sure we will be back!

We had a great time kayaking gently down the Dordogne. Easy to book. We opted for the 1.5 hours/9km which suited us perfectly.
